Schuco Donald Duck Hand Model Prototype Pre-War (73529)

Schuco Donald Duck Hand Model Prototype Pre-War (73529)

A unique piece of Schuco history: Prototype of the very first Donald Duck model from the pre-war era.
Never put into series production, this is an absolutely unique piece, guaranteed to be one of a kind.

Manufactured in the Schuco factory of the 1930s, this Donald already shows many details that later flowed into series production:

  1. Original cast feet and the original body with Schuco lettering.
  2. Arms made of bent wire
  3. A fully executed head with a small tin hat.
  4. Already a hint of a voice pipe in the mouth.
  5. Original hand-lacquered surface in very good condition.
  6. Body made of mass, height 14 cm

The head is open, not movable – and precisely because of that, it impressively documents the early stage of development of this character.

The origin story makes the model even more significant: As part of a collector's liquidation, we were able to acquire this unique set of 4 prototypes. These are heirlooms of a former Schuco employee who was involved in product design at the time - including those later legendary Donald Duck models.

This piece combines everything that makes a collector's item of distinction: historical significance, documented origin, authentic production at the Schuco factory, and absolute uniqueness.
A model of museum value that directly conveys the creative development process at Schuco.

Tradition & Expertise in the Toy Trade

I discovered my passion for tin toys and enamel signs early on, and gained my first experience at flea markets and trade fairs.
In 1986, I turned my hobby into a profession – the foundation for Tintoy-World, which has also been active on eBay since 1996. With decades of experience and expertise, I have established myself as one of the leading dealers for tin toys and am now a well-established figure in the industry.
